Lisa had sat in the nurse's room, massaging her eyes waiting for Jack's reply. Christie had left not too long after him after a fairly awkward moment of small talk. The sound of tyres squealing made her look directly into the car park. The Red hummer drove off and Lisa's heart raced. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 968 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "Adries is back in the library, but you have Alan, that should be enough I believe." Jack said as he shook her hand. "I would appreciate you doing what you can, though I don't expect miracles." |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "Fair enough, If i get through to an extraction team then i'll ask them to take her, claiming her as a lost daughter that needs to be reunited with her family and i'll get her at another time. Then again if I don't I can always shoot my way in after this. Let's see if I can work something just short of a miracle." Christie explained before taking out her phone and punching in the number. Shit, where is everybody? |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | Adries groaned, opening her eyes and trying to figure out what happened. 'I'm in the library, so that hasn't change,' she thought, slowly getting up to try and keep from getting a head-rush. She touched the back of her head and recoiled from the sharp pain. She looked at her hand, cursing when she saw the blood. She slowly stood up, using the chair next to her as support. 'Shit, where's Alan and Jack?' she thought, looking around the library. |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | Lisa pushed the library door and sprinted in, a hit of relief got her when she saw her; stopping in her tracks. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "I...I don't remember!" Adries told her, very distressed. She was still trying to piece together what happened. "I. I was going to follow my brother out of the library...we were having an argument with Jack. And then, that's it. I woke up just a minute ago and both are gone! Fuck! That fucking asshole!" she yelled, realizing what this could mean, "Where is Jack? Your sister?" |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | Lisa shook her head with disbelief. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "Alan was with me. Here. But then Jack came in and kidnapped him and gave him to Christie or soemthing!" Adries yelled as she started to really panic, "I mean...fuck! I think I'm alright. My head is throbbing, but I can probably walk around." |
Master Looter Posts: 2225 Joined: 29 Jul 2009 | Geez you guys, it seems like there's more action in these posts than there are when you all are fighting boss zombies! |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | She exhaled, pacing a little. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "Alright then. Thanks a lot," Adries said sincerely, taking the pill and following Lisa, "I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. I really do. And I know my brother would too. Sorry you had to get involved." ((I know, funny eh?)) |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "Please, don't worry. I did my best to try and sway them from doing this, and i should've thought of another plan, I should've followed them... Besides we're a group here, we need to defend each other from anything, and I'm not letting my sister kill Alan or you." Lisa said seriously as she descended the stairs with Adries to get to the U-haul. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "Much appreciated," Adries said as they walked into the parking lot. "So, they went to talk to you about this before hand? Bastards. I knew Alan and I should have left before night. Do you want something other than the U-Haul to drive? It's a bit big and bulky...I could hot wire something smaller." |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "Yes please. Something reasonably fast..." She scanned the car park and noticed a 2006 Volvo SUV, and started to walk towards it, "That'd do." |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | Adries nodded and went to work. She quickly hot wired the car, working with haste. She moved over to the passenger seat. "I see. Hopefully we can get to them before anything happens...anything bad that is. Where do you think they're taking him?" she asked, buckling in her seat belt. |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "Christie and Jack are traveling together, I don't think they're dealing with him yet. If that was the case she would would've just taken Alan to wherever she was ordered to take him and left Jack. You saw how secretive she was about what she was doing. Even if Jack's on her good side for now, I don't think she'd involve him." She explained before she drove out of the car park. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "I doubt it. She's fucking going to try and kill my brother and I!" Adries yelled angrily. "She'll backstab Jack, then he'll realize how right we are!" she said, "No offense of course. Dammit. I mean, we were going to try and not be a problem by leaving to our summer house and stay there. But no, of course we don't even get the chance! At least they didn't take the map and Alan's files." |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "None offense taken. But Adries, try to understand that you and Alan need to stop hiding things from us after this. I know that you think you're protecting us, but this all happened because no one was being straight with one another. Please, explain to us what's going on when this is over. I'm not going to go into this now, there are far more important things at hand now. Just consider it for later." Lisa said with a notable sense of plead in her voice, turning to face her momentarily before turning her focus back to the road. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "Yeah...well. Look," Adries started, staring out at the window as they passed by a few houses. She was silent for a moment before saying, "My family is the virus. We are what causes it. We're immune because it is us. When my Aunt Julia realized this...she, well used it to her advantage. So, the only way to get rid of it completely is to get rid of us. I don't know all of the specifics, but that is what the family told me. Alan knows a helluva lot more than I do which is why he's wanted so much. Him and Auntie Julia and dad and Uncle Al..." |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | Lisa took a moment for the information to sink in, it was...shocking. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 968 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "I would appreciate you doing what you can. We should probably avoid going anywhere you mentioned in passing. They will check those places, where is a secure area we don't have to worry about them getting to us?" Jack asked as he drove toward the hospital. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "Yeah, she tried, but no one could reverse engineer it once they had created the virus," Adries replied, feeling uncomfortable with telling someone the secret. "Seemingly it was the perfect weapon. Couldn't get a cure for it. The government was happy to hear that. Gave a big check to my Aunt for making it." |
Master Looter Posts: 1237 Joined: 7 Aug 2009 | Ivan burned rubber, tring to catch up to Adries. He picked up the radio and talked to Adries. "Hey, where's Jack? Or Alan? Anyways, don't worry. I'm not letting that fucker take you. He wants to play God, he's gonna get the devil." What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | Christie considered for a moment, thinking and listening to the dying dial tone. Once the call failed and she hung up to try again she spoke, "Typical. They thank someone for creating a fire but throw a tantrum when it spreads out of their control. There must be some way...there always is..." She shook her head. They drove down the road where she expected to see the half-destroyed hummer parked outside the building and her heart sank. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "Well, I can assume my aunt is working on trying to see if she can right this, but I also know she is wanted the most out of all of my family," Adries replied as they slowed down. Alan opened his eyes and looked around. He saw the seat in front of him. He looked to his right and saw trees speeding by. He wiggled around a little, trying to get a look at what was tying up his hands. 'Fuck.' ((OMG 666! :O )) |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 968 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "That will work. I was hoping somewhere either secluded or surrounded by troops, like a base. That spot sounds right up my alley, and we shouldn't be found there." Jack said as he drove towards the offices, he heard Alan wake up. "I will head there, but we shouldn't talk of it anymore, the less he can figure out the better."Jack said. |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "Christie wouldn't tell me anything even if i paid her. The last thing she said to me was that she needed to check something and walked off. Where would they go? I assumed that she'd ship out after whatever she was planning to do with Jack at the TV broadcast. I swear if i had access to whatever they're using to track her, we'd be on their track." She spoke while picking up some speed again, Lisa's mind was working fast but nothing was coming to her. She nodded in response as she lost connection again. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 968 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "No I know the way, I'll be fine. The less information our captive has the better off we all are." Jack said as he headed toward the offices. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "Shit," Adries muttered, racking her brain for any idea. "Well, I know one thing that is in our favor. Alan won't go out without a fight." 'Plan: run away,' Alan thought as he looked at his tied up feet. He quietly moved his tied up hands below his feet, allowing them to be in the front. He then went and untied his feet, doing his best to not make any sounds. He took a breath and slowly moved his way over to the right side door. He figured out that they were traveling on the highway at the current moment, he could tell due to the forest and the few signs he saw. He sighed, moving his hands up to the lock. 'Thank heavens no one uses child's lock,' he thought. He prepared himself for what was going to happen next, before lifting up the lock piece and jumping out. He rolled down the hill, landing hard. He looked right next to him and noticed a rock. 'Thank heavens I didn't land on that,' he thought, quickly getting up and running off into the forest. His cheek and jaw were killing him; he must have hit them when he rolled down the hill, 'But at least I'm free for now.' |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 968 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | Jack immediately spun the car around and pointed the headlights into the forest and he could clearly see Alan through the tries thanks to the headlights. He jumped out of the vehicle and ran after him. He could see him but he couldn't get a shot. Christie was right beside him. 'hopefully she'll shoot him in the leg and we won't have to worry about that anymore. His hands are still bound anyway, he won't be a threat.' Jack kept his gun at the ready anyway. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | Alan cursed at them, noticing the lights. He was able to widen the gap due to the sheer amount of adrenaline that was pumping through his body. He started to bite at his hand restraints, ripping them off. 'Sucks, those cables were for the power supply,' he thought, jumping over some logs, his knees buckling when he landed. 'Fucking hell,' he thought. He took a moment to think about where he was as he ran past a zombie. 'Well, the river is close by. And if I can follow that I can get to the summer house.' |
Master Looter Posts: 2676 Joined: 19 Sep 2009 | "What the-! Shit!" Christie yelled enraged, "He's fast. You didn't double lock the door?! You didn't tie him up tight enough?!" "We can be thankful for that. What could we do now though? There's no real way to track them. Would they drive to the hospital?" Lisa said with a sigh. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 968 Joined: 9 Apr 2008 | "I'm sorry but does it look like I kidnap people on a regular basis. I know I tied him up tight enough, that wasn't the issue. Next time check my work, you're the black ops soldier who does this on a regular basis remember?" Jack said as he kept pace with Alan. |
Dungeon Crawler Posts: 958 Joined: 18 Aug 2009 | "That could be where they went. Lots of military there," Adries said, "We should head over there. We're wasting time here." Alan was panting as he ran into some mud, almost slipping. He looked behind him and saw the two of them, and noticed Jack with his gun out. 'Shit, shit, shit,' he thought, looking around him. He saw a small group of around twenty zombies and ran towards them. He was able to duck and weave around them, slipping a few times. He cursed that he lost his initial moment, but hoped that the zombies would provide a slight distraction. 'Just a little longer and I'll be at the river,' he thought, running around a fallen tree. |

Jack immediately rolled them over using the strength that came with age. He pressed his arm to Alan's throat, cutting off the airway until he saw his eyes close. Jack picked up his rifle and butted Alan in the face to be sure he was unconscious. He lifted Alan up and walked outside to where Christie was waiting.
"I hope you know basic triage, because I don't think we're welcome here anymore." Jack said as he walked toward the car park where the hummer was waiting. Jack went back into the school and collected some computer cable which he used to tie Alan's hands behind his back. Jack and Christie climbed into the car and just before Jack drove off he said.
"I would appreciate it if you sent in an extraction team to get my people out. I probably won't get out alive anyways. Just give me the twenty minutes promised and then you can kill me all you want. For now though, I guess we are allies/business partners." Jack said to Christie.
