AO cheat –--how to remove Anarchy Online ingame ads?

That's always make players mad as lots of ads come forth in game.

This is an AO cheat for remove ingame ads.
1. open X:\Programs and Files\Funcom\Anarchy Online\Prefs\youraccount\
2. open Prefs.xml in notepad
3. search for

code:

"Value name="Advertisements" value="true" "
"Value name="VideoAdds" value="true" "

and change the "true" in "false"
4. Play AO free of advertisments and charge.

User was banned for: use hacking tools with gameguard ON in Lineage 2?. (Permanent)

Is this against the ToS..? I feel like it might be. I know its not directly effecting the game source or other players, but it seems slimy to me. Though, I doubt anyone is going to be able to find it out.
