Yea everythings goin ok for me, Uni is alot of work but its enjoyable. Still playing WoW at the moment, not alot though, myself and my brother are waiting for Warhammer to come out.

How is LotRO, Naota? I saw you putting some time in it on XFire. TBH, I probably won't try it, but after seeing those DX10 screens that were posted here a little while ago, I was damn impresssed. It looked way better than AoC does to me. Right now TF2+GTAIV = Waiting on Warhammer in my case, I'm completely WoW'ed out.

It is actually one of the few MMOs that I give praise to. The fact you actually progress a story line, as well as the fact theres no grinding need, and it runs parallel to the books, its great. Game-play isnt bad, and it does require grouping on certain quests.

Sadly no matter who's running it, it's the same game both sides. GOA will just kill it off quicker.

Every newsletter I get still makes me want it, but unless they've MASSIVELY overhauled the core gameplay since I last played, it's just a WoW clone with PotBS style floaty combat that never really feels like you're in control of the fight.

I'm rather curious to hear what makes it a WoW clone, because I've yet to see any real evidence of this. At least Mythic knows how to do rather important things like class balancing.

Id be on the WAR bandwagon, but from what my friends tell me, its the same as what the cheese says. Im just gonna stick with LotRO until Stargate Worlds comes out.

Well, I was asking who she/he/monstrous squid was because she/he/monstrous squid was getting such a good reception. Sure, it may seem a stupid question but I was curious dammit! Now, with the WAR=WoW arguement... The creators have basically said its going to be a copy of WoW. Except for the fact that its going to be highly polished, with interesting game concepts and lots of varied classes and races, and it helps that its set into the Warhammer universe. A lot better than being raped by gnome rogues on WoW, wouldnt you agree?

Im wondering, why there hasnt been a single mention of a Warhammer game that mixes their universe with Total War styled gameplay... My god the carnage! Toes all around, to say the least. =P

Well, you did go about it in a blunt/semi-rude sorta way mate.
The majority of us were members of the L2 WarCry site when it was getting massive traffic, and was one of the best L2 fansites around (3-4 years ago). Eili, being one of the L2 WarCriers, likes to pop in to say hi every now and again.

Yea, they're pulling some aspects from WoW, and what's wrong with that? Is it stupid to take a couple of the good things from the single most successful MMO ever? No. It's a good move, that way they can steal more WoWers because of the familiarity they'll have with certain parts of WAR. Unlike Blizzard, Mythic isn't raping the Warhammer lore with every turn, unlike WoW. WAR is a RvR-centric game, with a rather small focus on end-game PvE, unlike WoW which is wholly PvE-focused with terribly unbalanced and boring PvP. What are they really copying from WoW that hasn't existed for years in MMOs? I'd really like to see some examples.

Eh, it IS still in Beta, things can change. I'll probably try it out when it comes out officially, though. Any who, I got to 30 on my gnome warrior, started him on tuesay, I have no life, I know.

Is LoTR Mmo actually good? I might give it a shot next time I have some leftover money.

Can be a bit confusing at first, but overall, id give it 8 out of 10. would be higher if some things were slightly easier to figure out. http://www.lotro.com/trial on bottom right next to where it has the EU Customers button, you can get the trail key. I've got a 49 Guardian on Landroval as well. If AoC is as fun as I hope, I may just have to donate my money to you WarCry friends.

Varied classes? In WAR? HAH!

Yeah, it has such varied classes as "TANK" "HEALER" "RANGED NUKER" "AOE DPS" Amazing, never seen them in any other game before.

The RvR combat is tame at best, it's kinda like the WoW battlegrounds, but less fun, as the environments are too large, plus you can just walk out of the RvR area if somebody is chasing you, meaning we're gonna see constant border hoppers.

The public quests are an ok idea, but killing mobs for half an hour with 6 other people for ONE good item to drop that you can't even use and everybody rolls need on so they at least earned SOMETHING means nobody will do them.

Classes are unimaginative, gear looks dull, combat feels floaty as hell (you just feel as if you're vaguely suggesting what moves your character should use, not solidly controlling them in combat), dull and dark environments with almost no variation in textures or lighting.

It's a bad WoW clone in every concievable way. I'd rather play LotRO than WAR, at least LotRO is a GOOD WoW clone.

Now unless you've played it, kindly stop defending it. Every game is made to sound awesome before you buy it.
