Veterans program is live!
-
Veteran shops are located in Tir, Borealis and Omni-Ent.
-
Players will be awarded veteran points based on how many months they have paid for access to Anarchy Online. You can view how many veteran points you have by checking your information window (target yourself and press T). NOTE: only elapsed months count, those that pre-pay do not get veterans credit until the relevant period has actually passed.
-
Veterans points are awarded as follows:
-
6 months = +1 Veteran point
-
12 months = +2 Veteran points
-
18 months = +3 Veteran points
-
24 months = +4 Veteran points
-
30 months = +5 Veteran points
-
36 months = +6 Veteran points
-
42 months = +7 Veteran points
-
48 months = +8 Veteran points
-
The points are cumulative so someone who has paid for two years for example will get 10 points (1+2+3+4).
-
Veteran points will apply to every character on an account, even newly created ones. So if a veteran player elligable for 10 veteran points creates a new character that character will have 10 veteran points ready to spend.
-
Each character on an account can spend the total number of points so veteran points are not spread out across all your characters, if you are eligible for 10 points every character gets to spend 10 points each.
-
Veteran points will be used to buy items from the special veterans vendors.
-

The GUI introduced a year ago has gotten another upgrade, and we now consider it complete. As a result of this the old GUI is no longer supported, and everybody will have to use the new one from now on. While we consider the new GUI complete we will continue to add features to it as needed, like with Alien Invasion.
New starting area
ICC now handles immigration to Rubi-Ka, and newcomers choosing to start on Rubi-Ka will encounter a new start-up playfield with quests, aliens and non-player characters (NPCs) tailored to make the transition into the game easier. Everybody starts as neutral, but may choose a side before leaving this playfield.
Game Mechanics
- Being blinded now properly turns the view area completely black in all situations.
Monsters and Non-Player Characters (NPCs)
- Several creatures that weren't flagged as bosses now are, giving them some immunities and longer corpse decay time. Other creatures that were flagged as bosses by mistake have had their immunities and long corpse decay time removed. There are still some creatures that remain to be corrected.

- Modified some in-game posters.
Game Mechanics
- The special attacks Brawl, Fast Attack, Backstab, Fling Shot, Burst and Full Auto now check against defensive skills when calculating the chance to hit. We aim to fix this in 15.5.2.

Sound
- Additional sound added, mainly to Pandemonium.
Technical

Game Mechanics

Quests
- Ergo has adjusted his requirements for letting people through to the next realm without passing the trials. If you're level 50 or above he will let you pass into Elysium without a trial. The same goes for Scheol when you're level 81 or above (will be adjusted to 80 later). The limits for Adonis and Penumbra are 130 and 160, respectively.

- Geometry interaction has been smoothed a bit. As an example, running into 90-degree corners should no longer make you shake like a rattle.
- Fall damage has been turned off, due to the bug where you'd get fall damage while flying in a Yalmaha. When the bug has been solved, fall damage will be turned back on, so don't get too used to jumping off cliffs unharmed.
- Nano programs that were blocked due to innate resist ability will now use its recharge timer correctly. This is done to make innate resist something more than a nano pool drain for the attacker.
- A bug concerning team alpha loot mode has been fixed.
- Items and perks with Resist Nano bonus will now show correctly what kind of nano programs they give resist against.
- Lost Experience (XP) and Shadowknowledge (SK) from dying to environment damage or trap damage now go into the lost XP/SK pool.
- We have added a reload action. You'll find it in the Normal Actions menu. If you wield two firearms, using this action will reload the one with the emptiest clip percentage-wise.

- Fixed a bug where team-mates executing team nano programs would kick you out of sneak mode.
- Updated some title level 7 title names.
Nano Programs
- Fixed some errors in the Shadowlands Bureaucrat roots. The defensive skill was meant to be 90% nano resist, not 80% nano resist + 20% of the target's level. Also fixed a situation where these roots would not actually root.
- Shadowlands Bureaucrat roots above Puissant Restrict Movement have been changed to be area of effect roots, not single target.
- Fixed a problem with the Fixer's Tap Notum Vein nano programs. They should work correctly now.
- The engineer start-up crystal Feeble Automaton can now be uploaded without raising any skills.

Non-Player Characters (NPCs) and monsters

- Vendors in the Shadowlands have taken a course in self-control and can no longer be charmed. They have also turned pacifist and completely refuse to fight anyone.

- Panicking no longer gives creatures the ability to vanish by running into walls.
- Creatures that haven't seen action in a while and are bored will not liven up a bit faster when attacked.

- Some quests with outdoor locations will now have a guiding destination point.

- Characters above level 50 are now denied entrance to the training and testing facilities in Jobe Research.

Pets
- Pets now report when they take damage from the environment.

- You'll now find some more weapons using the "Sharp Objects" skill (Throwing weapons).

- The containers with application forms now exist to quality level 201, making it possible for level 200 characters to fond some they can actually use.

- Jumping just when equipping your Yalmaha will no longer render you unable to fly.
- Some pistols were given lower multi-wield requirements some time back. This was not intended, and those that got too low requirements have had this corrected now.
- The Pads of Dedication now show the correct requirements again.
- Clan and Omni application forms have been removed from Omni and Clan start-up shops - as a step to prevent new players from accidentally switching sides. Sided guards don't usually salute players changing sides in front of their eyes.
- Fixed a bug with the Poliziotto pistol that caused its bonus to appear as gone after zoning.
- You will now be able to use the Aban garden key on Shining Redeemed Statue of Transit to get transported to the Garden of Aban.
Tradeskills
- Numerous gems found in the Shadowlands can now be cut and polished and set into filigree gems. These will not only sell for a nice amount of cash, but also give minor stat bonuses if worn.
- Traders now have an extra use for screwdrivers.
- Fixed a problem where some Arul Saba bracelets had a level requirement of 300. These specific types of bracers are the weak version of the Arul Saba bracelets, and do not increase in power past the Arbiter Gem. Although it is possible to make bracelet with all 5 gems in these lines, they do not increase in power, so using a single gem bracer is best for these gems (using other blueprints is just a waste of money). The following Arul Saba gems are the weak variety and don't increase in power: Insidious Killer, Decayed Glory, Scarlet Sky, Craggy Landscape, Icy Tundra, Empty Desert, Fiery Plasma, Novice Brawler, Broken Moebius and Frail Juggernaut.
- We have lowered the requirements on all blueprint trade skill processes slightly.
Perks
- Perk specials that are recharging will now stay greyed out after zoning.
- Enhanced Nano Damage perk line now correctly increases your max nano pool.
- The Soothing Spirit perk line now contains 2 specials: Spirit of Blessing and Spirit of Purity. Spirit of Blessing is a team heal, while Spirit of Purity is a team nano pool recharge. They get more powerful the more perks in the line you have trained.
- The Limber and Dance of Fools specials now stack, rather than overwriting each other, as intended. Limber and Dance of fools now buff all evades as was intended.
- The Heal special ability in the First Aid perk line has been increased in power.
- Several perks specials have had their description updated to reflect their correct recharge timer.
- The execution bar for perk specials should no longer get stuck on the screen.
- Perk specials that can only be used on yourself should no longer require you to target yourself.
- Fixed an error in the Outdoorsman perk line. The Stoneworks special ability was supposed to be enabled from the third perk in the line, not the second. This is why the Stoneworks ability had the requirement that you need the third perk trained to be able to use. The Stoneworks special ability will not correctly be given from the third perk and not the second.
- Battle Group Heals now have 10 minute recharge, as they were supposed to.
Sound
- Some of the Shadowlands districts were supposed to play no music. This caused the previously played music to continue to play there. This is fixed now.
- Shadowlands combat music should no longer be played on Rubi-Ka.
Technical
- The profession of Keeper and Shade characters is now shown in the launcher.
- An error with feedback when attempting to equip items not usable by Shades has been removed.
- We've done some tweaks to the client's memory management.
- Rumour has it that we've actually fixed the age-old visual bug with male Opifex cloaks. Wearing a cloak will no longer misalign your head.
- WaitForVerticalSync option is default off.
- A new fix for mouse syrup (slow moving mouse) has been added. The previous fix we took out had a hardcoded 0 frames pre-rendering limit. This lowered framerate more than it really needed to. This new fix will set a 1 frame pre-rendering limit. The result is that mouse syrup problems should be history. The impact this have on framerate should be small. This problem happens on a lot of hardware and is thus hard to test internally. We have added an option you can use to turn off the fix if you believe that the fix ruins your framerate. You do this by pressing SHIFT + ALT + W at the same time. Your chat view will then display a message that says whether the fix is turned off or on. The hotkey state is not saved when you log out so the fix will be active next time you log in.
- Not really part of the build, but we changed the setup on a switch on the Atlantean dimension to hopefully stop the "Player already logged in" error when going through character generation.
11. Shadowlands World Polishing
Penumbra Hollows, which were finally made accessible to explorers yesterday, turned out to be caught in some kind of dimensional warp. While the area is (meta-) physically located in the Shadowlands, its (meta-) physical laws were those of Rubi-Ka. The Hollows have now stabilized, and follow the rules that apply to the rest of Shadowlands.
This update mainly contains a lot of world design corrections and changes. Trying to list them all is futile, and would contain numerous entries with "moved a rock to where it was supposed to be" and "you will no longer get stuck at coordinates x y". Thus, even while this list of changes might seem small, the actual changes are numerous and significant for overall game-play.
Shadowlands World Design
- The teleport / zone point at the end of the Adonis entrance tunnel has been fixed. Ergo will no longer help people get past this tunnel.
- Some areas were under-populated, thus having a surplus of natural resources. The inhabitants have now multiplied, and new creatures have moved into some of these areas.
- Some rocks and trees, a good amount of sand and dirt, and an occasional mountain have all been moved around a bit, in a great polishing effort from the world designers.
- The ground has been smoothed a bit, and some rocks have been made easier to pass, lowering the chance of getting stuck in the geography.
- Environment music has been added to some areas that were missing it, and changed in others.
- All mazes now have doors in the doorways.
Non-Player Characters (NPCs)
- Two NPCs that were missing have now returned to their designated locations in Penumbra.
- Hiisi Warriors should now spawn correctly.
Game Mechanics
- When reaching level 201 and above, the ability caps (limits) would previously increase with a huge amount. This was not intended, and has been corrected. Expect a much lower increase in the cap from now on. Those who have already increased their abilities above the new and correct cap will have their abilities lowered and IP reimbursed automatically.
Missions and Quests
- Unredeemed followers can now complete the quest involving Empath Min-Ji Liu and an old piece of cloth.
- Some information has been added in the mission description for the second Trash King assignment from Alvin and Dodga.
12. Post Shadowlands Updates
Non-Playing Characters and monsters

- Creatures from levels 50 to 130 in Shadowlands have had their damage and skills tweaked to the players' advantage.

Items
- Rubbery Resin is now available, if you know where to look.

- Outdoor creatures will no longer attack based on faction if they're much lower level than their target.
- Monsters living at the Brink and in the transition areas between the playfields will now be aggressive to everybody, regardless of faction.
- Certain NPCs had mixed up the sides / factions, and would thus respond incorrectly. Through extensive use of Omnifiers and Clanalizers we've set them straight now.
- Some NPCs were cursing themselves instead of their opponents. We've removed the Drain Intelligence program from their NCU, and they should now shower you with the proper insults and threats. Enjoy.
- Ergo has received an upgrade to his software, and should hopefully behave correctly in all situations now.
- Ecclesiast Cama was a bit jumpy, attacking players at a whim. We had a talk, and he promised to calm down and be nice.
- Creatures will now only assist each other if they can see each other. This is due to some new dungeon sections having internal walls, and we don't want creatures "hearing" their friends through these.
Items
- The items wanted by Finding Serenity are no longer Unique, so you can carry (and deliver) more than one at a time.
- An Adventurer nano crystal that caused a game crash has been fixed.
- Fixed a problem with the 4 gems Arul Saba bracelet using the Infinite Moebius gems.

September 4th, 2003
This patch is the first patch to introduce Shadowlands content onto the live Servers. While the game is not out yet, this patch prepares the player's clients to deal with Shadowlands content.
The following items were originally missing from the build notes (Added Sept 5th)
- A change has been made to the way skill is calculated to determine your damage multiplier. This kicks in at 1000 Attack Rating. Each profession now has a different multiplier scale above 1000 AR, so two different professions using the same weapon with the same AR will not necessarily do the same damage.
- There is now a hard cap on the effect you can achieve with nanopoint reduction items. This cap is based on your breed, and is as follows: nano 55%, solitus and opifex 50%, atrox 45%.
- You can no longer be teleported when rooted. This includes evacuation programs.
We have a new system for handling loss of experience points (XP) when dying. XP lost will be placed in a pool, and not lost forever. Each time you get XP, you will get a bonus which is pulled from this pool, until the pool is empty and you have regained all the lost XP. The bonus is given as a percentage of the XP you gain by normal means, and starts at 30%. Thus, if you have lost 30000 XP, and get 1000 XP per monster killed, you will get a 300 XP bonus per kill, and have all the lost XP back after 100 kills. This percentage can be increased, e.g. by Bureaucrat nano programs.
- Parry now has a higher chance of success. However, it also requires that you wield a weapon suitable for parrying, and that the incoming attack is performed with a weapon that can be parried.
- Riposte has become an automatic skill, just like parry. If you succeed in riposting, you will block the incoming attack and perform an attack of opportunity on the attacker. This attack is instant and free, not interrupting any other actions you may be performing. Riposte is checked before Parry, has a lower base chance of success than Parry, and has the same requirements to defender and attacker weapons as Parry.
- New special attack: Backstab. This is available to Adventurers and Shades only, and only when reaching 340 or 110 in base (non-buffed) Sneak Attack skill, respectively. A backstab can only be performed on a target that's not paying attention to you, and only when located behind the target. A damage multiplier is added at 540 (Adventurer) or 235 (Shade) in skill, and a critical hit modifier will be added at 625 (Adventurer) or 420 (Shade) in skill.
- The rate of increase for doing a critical with Sneak Attack has been lowered when the Sneak Attack skill goes above 1000. It still goes up, only more slowly than below 1000 in skill.
- Dimach now increase in power above 1000 in skill. Martial Artists will also notice the attack recycling faster above 1000 in skill.
- Nano programs have new rules for stacking (working together) and overwriting (more powerful programs replacing weaker ones).
- Nano programs belonging to a program line will now have this line displayed in their description.
- The aggression slider (also known as AggDef, or Def / Agg slider) now has a bigger effect on defensive skills.
- You can now switch combat target without ending combat, by pressing Shift + q.
- Mobs see sitting and heavily injured characters as easy kills, and are very likely to attack them. Mobs will use all special attacks their weapons can perform. The amount of damage they can do with these attacks is limited, to prevent them from becoming too tough.[/li]
- Mobs no longer take damage from the environment, e.g. acid pools and lava
When entering playfields that might exist in several copies, all members of the team will end up in the same copy. An exception is when the playfield is already well above its normal population limit, in which case team members will end up in different copies.
- Player controlled pets are no longer affected by fear nano programs.
- You can select you pets (including service tower) with Shift + F1-F4.
- Modification to the Meta-Physicists' pets whose attacks "confuses and clouds the mind". They should now be operating correctly, and work in the following way: When used against a mob, they will prohibit that mob from moving or fighting while the pet's attacks continues to land. When used against a player, they will prohibit the player from moving, but the player can still attack (you are not getting the ability to perma-stun a player).
- Damages received and dealt by your pets can have there own color and can be muted seperatly from other damagetypes.
- It's now possible to crawl. While crawling, you can only attack with ranged weapons (no modifiers though), and the only way to end a crawl is by standing up.
- You can now relax in style by doing a /lounge command while sitting. Return to sitting by pressing x.
- The maximum number of missions a character can have at any time has been increased from 3 to 9.
- A jump limitation has been put in to prevent players from jumping too high.
- The amount of items an apartment can contain has been increased from 10 to 30.
- We have reduced the chance of taking damage when falling.
- We made our Level of Detail (LOD) system a bit more intelligent. Objects in the world will change LOD more correctly.
- Several improvements have been done to performance in indoor areas, including lighting calculation, visibility checks and objects fading into and out of view.
- If trying to zone into a playfield located on a server with very low frame rate, the zoning will fail. When the server frame rate improves, you will be able to zone.
- All start-up nano crystals have had their requirements to use lowered. You will no longer have to set any skills before uploading and using them. This step is part of our ongoing process to make the game easier to get into for newcomers.
- Some nano programs might have a minimum execution time. This means that no matter how high initiative skills you gain, the execution time will not go below this value.
- Programs designed to knock out people in Grid Armor now checks whether Grid Armor is worn, not the value of the target's AddAllDef modifier.
- Nullity Sphere now checks whether they're already running, not the value of your Field Quantum Physics skill.
- Several programs performing a nano shutdown effect on the user have had their shutdown values increased, and now debuff all nano skills with 4000 points.
- Adventurers' direct damage programs (nukes) now check whether the needed polymorph is running, and no longer debuffs the Matter Creation skill.
- Meta-Physicists' programs for reducing the chance of being interrupted while executing programs now actually do that, instead of increasing the chance.
- Meta-Physicists' Infuse with Knowledge buffs now last for 50 minutes as they were intended.
- The Meta-Physicists' Evocation line of pet buffs has been increased in duration somewhat. They start at 2 minutes in duration and scale up to 7 minutes. MPs are seen to need to continually pump their anger into their pets, but this longer duration will mean they only need to do an Evocation at the start of a fight, and not continuously during it.Executing them again will now recharge Fixers' NCU buffs.
You are no longer allowed to summon players into Condemned subway.
- You might find items that buff a stat called "Skill Lock Modifier". This is not a new stat - we just haven't used it much before. This stat reduces the time your skill is locked by 1 percent per point. On e.g. a First Aid Kit - Skill Lock Modifier 15 would decrease the First Aid lock time from 20 seconds to 17 seconds. A lock can never be reduced by more than 50% of the original time.
- We have fixed some misleading element in the description on the Bracer of Pacifism.
- Some weapons might have minimum attack and recharge periods. This means that no matter how high initiative skills you gain, the weapon won't attack more often than the total of these minimum periods.
- All weapons in the game have now got a new stat. It is called "Max Beneficial Skill". You have probably noticed that the higher skill you have with a weapon, the higher damage you do. "Max Beneficial Skill" is a cap that we have placed on all weapons for balance purposes - to give us better control with the damage weapons do. We have tried to make sure that this doesn't make many of the old weapons less effective, but there are many hundred weapons in the game (many thousands with all the variations), so glitches might have happened. In a few cases we might also consciously have reduced the effectiveness of certain weapons. The full skill is still used for determining your chance to hit with your weapon.
- Parrying now depends on the weapons used by the attacker and the defender. Parrying is only possible if the attacker's weapon can be parried, and the defender's weapon is useable for parrying.
- Forms used to change side to clan or Omni-Tek requires those with the Shadowlands expansion pack to not have a negative faction rating with the side you're attempting to change to. They have also had their description corrected with regards to time between using two forms.
- A change has been made to the Bloodleech and Bloodslave rings. The amount of health regained when using these rings is now based on the amount of damage inflicted (75% returned for the Bloodleech and 67% for the Bloodslave, as before). If the target of the ring effect lowers (through reflects, for example) the amount of damage inflicted, the amount you are healed will also be lowered.
- The problem with zoning in a vehicle when you exactly match the requirement and still dropped you out of the vehicle has been fixed.
- The Primeval Skull can now be used by Nano Technicians.
- New Graphical User Interface (GUI)! We have added major parts of the new GUI, which we will continue to expand on in the updates to come. To activate the new GUI, go to Options (F10), open the Misc window and select "Enable new control panel". You'll need to exit the game and log in again for it to be activated.
- When shots fired from ranged weapons miss their target, the visual tracer now takes a more appropriate direction.
- Some bugs in the Short Transfer Uniform Controlled Kick system (also known as /stuck) have been fixed. The system will now work while swimming, provided you don't move around, and provide better arrival locations. Omni-Trans would like to apologize for any inconvenience the bugs may have caused.
- Fixed so that using chat refs and %t commands work on the same line of chat.
- 640 x 480 resolution is no longer supported. The minimum resolution is now 800 x 600.
- Your character will turn transparent when you move the camera close to him. This can be disabled/tweaked under he Option/Environment panel.
14. Upgrade: Inner Sanctum
Thursday July 3rd 2003
A small, albeit devout, cult worshipping the power of the three winds of time was discovered ob Rubi-Ka some time ago. Hidden inside their massive temple complex, they had for decades tried to unleash the power of the three winds that they thought would lead them on a journey to paradise.
Now the seal to the Inner Sanctum has broken. Hezak the immortal, the enigmatic cult leader, is thus unveiled at last. It's been reported that the zealous cult subordinates deals with any threat interfering with their secret rituals. Citizens are warned to keep away.
-
Due to a large number of participants and spectators, we've found it necessary to split both the Omni-1 and Tir arenas off from the surrounding city.[LI]
Be aware that fertilizing saplings can have deadly consequences.
A way to circumvent the level limits on healing and buffing in Player vs Player (PvP) has been removed.
The Improved Solar-Powered Pistol can now be built.
-
A change has been made to the Nano Technician's Enfraam line of nano programs. The NCU cost of these nano programs has been reduced, and a minor nano resist buff has been added.[LI]
The team heal Alpha and Omega is now blocked by the soldier's complete heal blocker nano programs. This only affects the healing segment of Alpha and Omega, so a doctor with a CH blocker on them will still be able to complete heal the team, but will not receive the heal themselves.[LI]
The trader's Margin Call nano program was incorrectly healing the target 19 nano points per tick rather than draining 19 nano points per tick. This has been corrected.
We have added a new type of monster camp which grows progressively tougher. It is aimed at high-level characters. We'll let you figure out where and what by yourselves.
-
There are reports about organised bands of monsters attacking traveling merchants across Rubi-Ka, stealing their cargo. When some of these merchants were asked about the cargo, they mumbled some incoherent words, and are currently brought in for questioning by the authoroties. Their wares seem to be gone from the market, no doubt taken as treasure by the various monster camp leaders.[LI]
If you wish to get a new apartment, Rubi-Ka regulations require that you remove any current apartment registrations tied to your name. There is now a form available in tool shops for this purpose. Note that upon using this, your old apartment and all its content will be considered properties of your landlord.
-
The Banded Ring of Hope can now be worn if you meet all item requirements.[LI]
The Gloomfall and Shadowfade helmets have now got a new look. They used to look like the Omni-Pol Elite helmet, a look that is supposed to be unique to Omni-Tek.[LI]
The funeral urns found in the Temple of Three Wind and Inner Sanctum dungeons are no longer NoDrop. The energized versions are still NoDrop, however.
[LI]Fixed a problem with the Bracelet of Amplified Sound. It now gives its bonuses properly.[LI]
The price of the Lien's Crystalizer nano crystal was incorrect and has been adjusted to the correct value.[LI]
The spangled Omni-Tek cloaks now work as they should - clan rebels will no
longer be able to wear them.[LI]The Globetrotter Helmet and Gunner's Cap have been fixed, and now checks for wear properties.
15. Upgrade: Missions
Wednesday April 23rd 2003
The auto-generated mission areas have received a major upgrade in looks and layout, and should now be both more varied, challenging and visually
pleasing.
New dangers in missions include proximity mines, cameras and gun turrets. The
"Map Reader Upgrade - Machines" will help somewhat against some of these hazards, and you might be able to locate a central control unit for them. In addition, more variation has been added to creatures found in missions. In fact, some completely new creature variants will only be found in missions. Watch
out!
Some other changes with missions are
-
Supplies can now be found outside of chests too. Look around, and with some luck you'll come across some special goodies.[LI]
When selecting a mission in the mission booth interface, the coordinates for the mission will be automatically uploaded to your map and compass.[LI]
All missions now have a time limit of 48 hours.[LI]
The "brown cave" mission style is no longer available.[LI]
You will not always be offered an item reward for a mission. Remember to check the mission info.
-
Damage dealt to an enemy is now tracked on the individual damage dealer instead of the team. A team still adds all members' damage together when competing with others for the kill. This is done to avoid situations where a corpse would become impossible to loot when a team broke up during the fight.[LI]
We corrected a bug that allowed you to get XP for the actions of your team when not on the same playfield as them. You'll need to be on the same playfield, and close to the action, to get your share of the XP.
-
PvP level restrictions have been simplified: When determining whether you can attack, your own level and the level of the target is the only thing that matters now. Teams have no impact on this anymore.[LI]
Healing pets now use their master's level - not their own - for checking whether they can heal a target in a land control PvP battle. Simply, if the master can attack somebody of that level, the pet can heal.[LI]
Barehanded attacks will no longer have the chance of scoring critical hits halved in PvP, but receive the full chance. When using both a weapon and martial arts, this applies to the martial arts attack, but not the weapon.
-
New rules for terminating own controllers:
-
Terminating of a controller can now only be carried out during the first hour after a 5% suppression gas period has ended.[LI]
An organization terminating their own controller can't construct a new controller in the same area for the next 2 hours, and no organization of the same side can construct a controller in the area for the next hour.[LI]
Terminating your own controller will now be broadcast on the All Towers channel.
Messages about the termination of a controller now contain the correct coordinates.
-
-
Crowd limiting on login and zoning has been added. If you're trying to log into a crowded area, and this fails, you will be moved to the first non-crowded location on this list:
-
The last outdoor playfield you were on[LI]
The insurance terminal where you last scanned
[LI]Your apartment
-
Temporary pets (the ones summoned by Meta-Physicists and Bureaucrats) will no longer de-spawn mid-attack if their timer runs out, but continue until they're done with their current target.
-
We have added a "/stuck" command for players to move themselves from locations where they get stuck in the geometry. The command has a delay of 30 seconds, and you should remain seated for the entire 30 seconds. It is not possible to use this command in water or while in a Yalmaha as you are not able to sit. Please attempt to use this command before petitioning about stuck in geometry issues; in many cases it will solve the issue.[LI]
Due to the "/stuck" command not always being efficient, we will leave the "/terminate" command in the game for now. It has been given a 1-minute timer though, to prevent abuse.[LI]
Moving across suppression gas borders will now abort any nano execution in progress.
[LI]Sitting down while executing a nano program will now abort the execution.[LI]
You can no longer place containers containing items with the Unique tag in the trade window.
-
The client will now store visibility data for outdoor playfields on your hard-drive. This will cause some extra client lag the first time you enter a given playfield, but a lot less lag after that, as the visibility data doesn't need to be reconstructed.[LI]
We've implemented a new system for loading items on characters.[LI]
A memory issue with item generation has been ironed out.[LI]
The rules for spawning static dungeons and shops have been changed to prevent the creation of new instances (copies) of a specific dungeon or shop unless the current ones are actually filled to the limit.
-
It's now possible to build several basic health and nano recharge kits; Treatment Laboratory, First Aid Kit, Nano Recharger and Nano kit.[LI]
You can now remove the custom motifs from your Adaga Elegantes and Brutals. You can also apply the Brutal motif on top of an Elegante motif, and vice versa.
Reversing a paint job can be costly, so make sure you know what you're doing.[LI]We would like to warn people that the Precious Metal Reclaimer is not recommended for use with junk containing minimal amounts of precious metals. Though it might work, it is very likely to ruin the Reclaimer.[LI]
Some additional trade skill processes have been added. You'll need to figure these out for yourself though.[LI]
Yalmaha has improved the instructions in the Yalmaha 29500 - Stiletto Building Kit.[LI]
Fixed a problem with the "Jobe-Made Bladestaff Construction Manual".
-
A nano program for summoning your pet(s) is now available. It's a very low level program, with no profession restrictions, and can be found in the general nano program store.[LI]
Divest Skills (Lesser) was incorrectly lowering the skills of the target by 183 points when it should have been 173 points. It has now been changed to lower the skills of the target by 173 points. (Divest Skills is more powerful that Divest Skills (Lesser) and lowers the target's skill by 182 points).
-
New planet map by Dovve! To select this map, or other custom maps you might have stored in the map directory, open the planet map, press the "?" button, and select from the list. Map-makers' alert: The txt file for a map now includes a name line. Be sure to update your files, using the new map's txt file as
reference.[LI]Ambient sounds are now playing properly in static dungeons, and should make for better atmosphere.[LI]
Shuttles bringing new arrivals from the spaceport have had their routes changed. Omni-Tek employees will now be transported to Rome Blue, free clanners will be taken to West Athen, and neutrals are brought to either Borealis or Newland.[LI]
Mission terminals in Tir, Omni-1 Entertainment and Newland no longer serve characters of levels above 25.[LI]
Some new signs have been added to the training grounds.
-
Omni-Tek and clan creatures are no longer trigger-happy towards each other. They still love taking shots at player characters though.[LI]
The guide found in the training grounds will now have a few tasks for the newcomers to carry out while learning the ropes of life on Rubi-Ka.[LI]
Loren Warr has become a bit more talkative.[LI]
Thanks to the miracle of neuron re-structuring Jack "Legchopper" Menendez will now speak (well... babble) in a more orderly manner.[LI]
Ljotur, in his infinite and rather special wisdom, has moved over to stand with his guards, so they can actually guard him.[LI]
Some characters have decided to take a trip to Miir Fashion and update their wardrobe. Some have even bought a collection and developed a taste for changing clothes regularly.
-
The Parry skill of level 195+ creatures has been reduced considerably. Note that the change will be more noticeable the higher level the creature is.[LI]
Creatures now stay on your tail a bit longer if you try escape by running.[LI]
Creatures who are unable to get close enough to attack for an extended period of time will give up and wander off. The length of this period might be tweaked later, after seeing how it works over time.[LI]
Omni-Tek has upgraded its trusty old Omni-Pol Juggernauts since they are now used to store and transport some very precious cargo.[LI]
A number of NPCs that were never meant as Bureaucrat and Trader weapons are no longer susceptible to charming.[LI]
Some NPCs in the Condemned Subway are now harder to charm.[LI]
Creatures now react more calmly to being swarmed by attackers, and will fight more efficiently in such situations. Raiders, watch out.[LI]
Creatures will no longer warp / teleport when in panic-mode (running from the enemy).[LI]
NPCs that normally de-spawn after a set time (e.g. Peter Lee), will no longer do so while they are attacking somebody.
-
Many creatures have received some special loot. We'll leave it to you to
discover which creatures, and what they carry.[LI]The Trash King's spawn chance has been increased. The time between spawn checks is the same.
-
Eddie in Last Ditch has started importing a new backpack model. It's NoDrop, which means it can't be traded or dropped, and will not move to the reclaim terminal - but stay in your inventory - during resurrection.[LI]
More sunglasses and other headwear have been added to the game.[LI]
Several items adding to Vehicle Airborne skill have been added.[LI]
Due to a complaint from Colonel Kaehler, Omni-Tek employees are now unable to gain the benefits from his specially designed sleeves. Rumours say Kelly Frederickson has acquired a similar pair though.[LI]
The instruction discs for the Nano Technicians' Nano Programming buffs are now available. Previously, only the complete crystals could be found.[LI]
The Manex Catastrophe will no longer be found in missions. We plan on adding
them to other locations in the next patch, but for now they're not available on Rubi-Ka.
-
Name change on Implants and NanoClusters! After discussing this in great details with you, our players, you decided in a poll to change the names of the Implants and the NanoClusters into something that held the actual stat name instead of the "analogical" but slightly obscure stat names. It should now read something that is more easily understandable. The name of the stat is listed first, so it is easy to find in the alphabetic shop view. E.g.: Strength Head Implant.[LI]
An unintended side effect of the O.E.T. CO. Jess gun has been removed.[LI]
Parts of the Tarasque are no longer stackable. This to prevent people from accidentally using a stack in the trade skill process, thus losing items.[LI]
Pills and blister packs now have a 3-minute skill lock on Pharmaceuticals, for balance reasons.[LI]
The Truspace XL 900 Visor now displays properly on your character.[LI]
The Boosted Hellfury Assault Cannon incorrectly had a profession check on its dispel proc effect. This check was not meant to be there, and has been removed, so the weapon can now affect Soldiers.[LI]
Albrecht Heavy Tank Armor has been fitted properly visually to the solitus breed.[LI]
The level requirement on the Light Notum Tank Armor has been lowered.[LI]
Some errors in the production of The Mid have been corrected. All models
should now have the same attributes, though still dependant on the quality of the vehicle.[LI]The Eradicator XCI-52 assault rifle has been remodelled a bit, giving it different looks and better performance.[LI]
Burst of Speed stims now correctly add to your run speed for 1 minute, and
leave you winded for 3 minutes afterwards.[LI]The Boots of Infinite Speed now correctly locks your Run Speed skill for 10 minutes when you use their innate nano program.[LI]
Omni-Tek Armor (the cheap version of Omni-Tek Police Armor) is now considered social clothing, as it was originally intended to be. You will not be able to wear it with other protective gear.[LI]
Sunglasses of Syncopated Heartbeats no longer look like three pairs of sunglasses.[LI]
The Implant Disassembly Clinic can now only be worn by Fixers, as it was supposed to be.[LI]
The Semi Sentient Service Tower has received the proper (lower) skill requirements, and will now respond properly to commands.[LI]
Barter Armor has received a small boost.[LI]
The Augmented Cyborg Arm Armor incorrectly had the Psychic and Stamina wear
requirements switched. This has been fixed, and the wear requirements for the arm piece are now the same as the rest of the suit.
-
Item equipping rules have been changed a bit, to prevent certain items - normally vehicles - from automatically de-equipping when zoning.[LI]
Some individuals of several four-legged species had a gene error causing them to walk in strange angles, e.g. nose in the ground and hind legs in the air.
This has now been corrected by natural selection, as they were unable to run from Omni-Tek biogenetic regulation units.[LI]The frequency of individuals surfing the ground instead of running has
diminished. It's not considered fashionable this year.[LI]When using an insurance terminal, you will now be informed of the amount of XP registered in the insurance database.[LI]
Most creatures on Rubi-Ka will now stop 1 to 2 meters further away when closing in on you to fight. This will result in a more visually pleasing experience.[LI]
Land control map buttons will no longer pop up on top of other panels when the map panel is closed.[LI]
When trying to multi-wield a weapon and failing, you will receive a message explaining why.[LI]
Swimming in place will now use a proper animation instead of the forward swim animation.[LI]
The Anarchy Online launcher now opens the device selection menu upon start-up if you have installed a new graphics card.[LI]
The nano program Iron Circle now uses a more suitable icon in the NCU effects display.[LI]
Water ripples are now properly aligned with the water, no matter the angle of the water surface.[LI]
Your XP value is now properly synchronized between the server and client. This should remove all messages of losing XP, and get rid of false messages of extremely high XP gain. Note that this was always just a visual bug.[LI]
Players with Kyro graphic cards no longer require a workaround to get the game to run without glitches.[LI]
A problem that would cause the nano program timer bars to lock up has been fixed. This could still happen, but should be more rare.
[LI]The pop-up box to confirm deletion of an item will now list the name of the item you're about to delete.[LI]
We put a new skin on the launcher.[LI]
Several issues with team health and nano pool bars in the Team Window have been corrected.[LI]
Turning off the displaying of names above people's heads should now work properly in all situations.
-
Creatures will now be of levels more suitable for the level of the mission.[LI]
Supplies in missions have been tweaked, adding more diversity. Some items simply showed up a little too often.[LI]
Turrets have been tuned down a bit, and should no longer be almost certain death to many people. It's still advisable to be careful around them though.[LI]
Cameras, and the sentries they activate, are slightly less perceptive now.[LI]
Mission areas should on average be smaller now.
[LI]Two rooms containing unaccessible locations for chests and elevators have been removed from mission generation.
16. Build Notes v14.7.10
Path-finding functionality has been given a thorough quality upgrade. The player "/follow" command is still as it was, but a quality upgrade will be added later. The changes made to path-finding will be visible to players in the following ways:
- Pets and NPCs will find better paths toward their movement-target, be it in follow or attack mode.[/li][LI]Pets and NPCs will be less stuck in geometry.[/li][LI]Pets and NPCs will jump in order to avoid furniture that blocks their path.[/li][LI]Pets will be less likely to fall off bridges and narrow ledges.[/li][LI]Pets and NPCs will understand if they get really stuck and use another path.[/li][LI]Pets and NPCs will use more balanced time to get to their target due to less need for teleporting.[/li][LI]Pets and NPCs will always move to a place with line of sight to their target before attacking.[/li][LI]Client and server will have more synchronized pet and NPC positions than earlier.[/li][LI]NPCs will in most cases be able to attack across low furniture.[/li][LI]Movement with pets through indoor areas will be possible to do faster. NPCs will however also be smarter when following you.[/li][LI]The "invisible NPC" situation is improved.[/li]
- Organisation problem with elections solved. This should help the leaders who repeatedly get removed from their own organisation when offline.
- When leaving an organisation, your towers should now be properly removed.
- Reclaim Terminals removed from training grounds.[LI]The newbie shop in the training grounds has been cleaned up. If you miss any items you could find there earlier you can go talk to the Secondhand Peddler about it.[/li]
[LI]A change has been made to the Temple of Three Winds. If you are over level 70 and are warped into the dungeon, during the 30 seconds before you are kicked out, you will be stunned. were ejected.

The main content updates in the 17.5 version will be the addition of new quest series to the Penumbra playfield, including a new team instanced playfield and a new unique team instanced encounter for high-level players on Rubi-Ka.
The Mysteries of Penumbra
Penumbra will be the latest area to open up its mysteries! Players will be able to embark on a series of great story quests that explore what happened to the Xan after the cataclysm.
*Uncover the untold story of Penumbra and discover the secrets hidden beneath the ice.
*Complete over forty new quests.
*Visit an exciting new team instanced playfield as both part of the quest lines and as a separate adventure.
*Earn new quest rewards including a host of new tradeskills processes.
The new content in Penumbra is split into two broad categories. Firstly there are the series of new quests around the existing Penumbra playfields as you have seen with the other Shadowland's playfield. This time though there is also the added feature of a brand new team instance called Alappaa.
Inside Alappa players will encounter some great new gameplay challenges as a mysterious old man has an intriguing task that needs completing.
Ashes to Ashes...
...an old enemy resurfaces as the Dust Brigade threat makes itself felt on Rubi-Ka once again. Players will have to locate and enter the latest Dust Brigade camp in order to face a dangerous new opponent.
It appears that the Dust Brigade have begun excavating a remote site on Rubi-Ka and are apparently trying to recover something from the site. Reports are sketchy, but it appears to be something worth investigating!
*New team instanced encounter for high level players.
*Help uncover what exactly the Dust Brigade are planning and defeat a challenging new boss encounter
*Earn new rewards and items for defeating the encounter.
The new team instancing features allow us to present a lot more involving and challenging encounters for single teams. Deafeating this encounter will require tactics and reactions to playfield events that hasn't been seen before in the game. We are really looking forward to providing an interesting and involving new encounter that we think players will really enjoy!
Gameplay Features
Of course the updates aren't just about the new content, and there will be the usual host of new game updates and changes, here are some of the things you can expect to see in 17.5

*The Unicorn's have installed cell scanners and reclaim points in their staging area.
*Bureaucrat's Shadowland's calms will now fully calm mobs when landed. The durations have been increased to be in line with the relative durations of the other profession's calming abilities.
*Added Grenade, Ranged Energy and Heavy Weapons to the composite ranged expertise nanos
*The bounding box targeting system is now optional and may be toggled on and off through your options menu
*New option on the planet map to upload a custom co-ordinate to your map while on any non-instanced playfield.
**New Vehicles and Paid Points system**
- The new vehicles are now available from the special Phasefront Vendor at Newland Lake.
- Paid Points can be used to make purchases from these vendors. Paid Points can be purchased through your account page on our registration site and then transferred into the game.
- The vendors sells individual items and 'bundles' of items. When opening any bundled pack please ensure that you have the relevant inventory slots available. The larger bundles (i.e. the 'get all vehicles' bundle will spawn an additional bundle for each vehicle type when activated so you can activate them one by one)
- The new vehicles are activated through nano-formulas that will upload like any other nano and can then be used to activate the vehicle.
- The hoverboards operate as ground vehicles (using jump while on a hoverboard will perform a 'trick')
- The Jetbikes operate as air vehicles in the same way as existing flight modes.
- All the new vehicle nanos have a 100% break chance on hit, so being struck in combat will remove you from the vehicle.
**Perk Changes**
- All perks should now scale correctly if the user has over 3,000 Attack rating.
- Red Dusk perk now correctly lists a recharge time.
- All levels of Curing Touch should now have the same effect icon in the target's NCU.
- Fixed Curing Touch to remove additional blinds that were not being effected by the action.
- Corrected stacking order on the Keeper's Physique ability. It will now replace Iron Circle in your NCU. Casting Iron Circle on a keeper with Keeper's Physique running will no longer replace Keeper's Physique
- Keeper perk action Mark of Sufferance should now remove DoTs correctly.
- Doctor perk action Viral Combination should no longer lock when no damage is done due to a DoT effect not running.
- Bio Shielding 10 now correctly shows the Bio Regrowth special and its description in the perk window tooltip.
- Fixed subcriteria for the following perk specials: Bluntness, Crave, Collapser, Fuzz, and Nano Feast. You should now correctly get the damage bonuses intended when using these perks together.
- Bloodletting should now correctly increase the damage over time done by leg-shot.
- Corrected perk requirements for Nanobreed Secondary Genome 5.
- Notum Overflow should now work correctly on both monster and players
- Fixed all the Accelerate Decaying Quarks perk actions so they now check for Sabotage Quark Field and will now work correctly.
- Updated the Close Call perk action to scale correctly.
- The description of the perk ability Bot Confinement should now be correct.
- Updated the Ken Fi perk special. So it can now improve both heal pet and attack pet.
- The Guardian Perk special should now work with Augmented Mirror shields as well.
- Trader perk accumulator level 2 should now be functioning properly.
**Nano Changes**
- Corrected the modifiers on Art of Peace to correctly add to Projectile Damage Modifier instead of Projectile AC.
- Revised stacking and line information for the Nullity Sphere nanolines to prevent agents in mimic form being able to break the root effect using their Bail nanoline. The nanos still function in exactly the same way.
- NT 'Explosive' nanos now correctly require a basic rather then an augmented cyberdeck
- Trader mind control nanos will no longer show LDBIntern errors when examined in the NCU.
- Removed the CannotRefresh flag from the Keeper ward nanoline, this should prevent being spammed by the "NCU error: This nano program can't automatically replace other program." message.
- Changed both the "Ambient ..." and the "Tone of ..." Keeper aura lines so they have correct stacking information. So now only one of multiple auras at a time has effect as intended (You can of course still run heal and nano auras in parallel).
- Swapped the stacking lines on the effects in the Fixer Shadow Step nano. The evades are now in the Run/Evade Buff stacking line, while the runbuffs are in the Shadowlands Run Buff line. Now when a fixer casts shadow step and a MA casts elusive target on the fixer, it will no longer overwrite the runspeed buff. It now just overwrites the duck/dodge/evade buff.
- Added detailed feedback message for when you try and use Nano Crystal (Energize Rubi-Ka Grid Tunnel) without having combined it with the Quiescent Wave Form Template first.
- Nano Crystal (Calia's Form: Dragon) now shows as Nano Crystal (Calia's Form: Pit Lizard), properly matching the nano formula.
- Team-Enhanced Deathless Blessing now displays icons properly in both the caster and teams NCU and can be cancelled accordingly.
- The adventurer nano improved serene sky and friend of the wild now work as intended, only calming mobs which are not in combat mode. The non-Improved nanos are now Target only, while the Improved nanos are AoE. They should all only be castable on NPCs which are not fighting. The AOE effect will also only affect non-fighting NPCs.
