Renewing the call for Restoring Old Athen
Another day in Old Athen.
Another day of watching Omni-Tek saboteurs and unrestrained corporate citizens blazenly walk into the largest Clan city through the Jobe whompa. They blazenly enter in through the grid to walk around the prison guards who do double duty as city guards. They come to taunt, and they come to kill Clan citizens and foment Chaos whenever possible. The air pollution over Wartorn Valley is insane, and the defenses weak in case of a military invasion. A few door guards will not hold the eastern wall of the city which has been breached before.
The city obviously needs new guards and the weak city taxes on merchants is simply not going to pay for them is it?
Furthermore after all this time much of Old Athen still looks like a warsite of the former Omni-Tek colony. No wonder so many Omni-Tek criminals think they can waltz in and wreak havoc. This largest and oldest city of the Clans should look like who it belongs to by now.
Old Athen should also be of great importance to the Council of Truth as an alternative to Sentinel occupied Tir. Simon Silverstone might have hinted at permitting the new Council of Truth to take up residence, but how dependent do we want a new Council to be on one militant, powerful and totalitarian Clan? Mr. Silverstone needs to remember that Tir was built and belongs to all the Clans, not to the Sentinels alone. Tir needs to be governed by united Clan forces again. If he is truly concerned about poor defenses in Tir, maybe he should join the Council and try to mobilize better Clan Blades under the Council's authority?
In the meanwhile the Council of Truth can't be held up by Clan Sentinel's whims. A secured and rebuilt city of Old Athen would be the best alternative if for anyone reason an alternative capitol is needed. Even beyond the Sentinels it is in the Council's best interest to have a secured major city to fall back to in case of an invasion of Tir by any hostile force. Old Athen in its diversity and independence from control by any singular Clan represents a better environment for what the new Council of Truth would like to achieve. What more needs to be said about such a mutually beneficial pairing between the Council of Truth and Old Athen?
For the benefit of the Council and all Clans we need several things to be done with Old Athen:
* Increased city security to protect from Criminals and Military Assault
* Removal of Omni-Tek emblems and renewal as a proper Clan city
* If possible improved informational guides to the shops and various Clans which compose Old Athen.
- Signs or humanoid information guides.
* An appropriate inddor social place of meeting if construction budget allows
United together as one voice we can make Old Athen the proper central Clan city it deserves to be!
