Sallust: welcome to my Camelot office Falikos, I'm going to begin recording our conversation now if you don't mind?
Falikos: Go right ahead
Falikos smiles
Sallust: so you're Falikos of Shattered Dreams, well known Nano-Technician of Borealis and leader of the Newland Guards movement
Sallust: anything you'd like to say about your personal background to the people of Rubi-Ka?
Sallust: for instance, are you a Rubi-Kan native or immigrant to Rubi-Ka?
Falikos: Well, being a nanomage I'm quite native.
Falikos grins
Falikos: Originally from Newland City, but I live in Borealis now... well sort of, guess Jobe temporarily untill my appartment is repaired.
Falikos: Anyway, that's why I was so sad to see Loren Warr and crew hired to guard the city, I have very fond memories of when the gates were open to all and the city was booming with trade, I'd really like to see that happening again. Unbiased guards are a first step to it I think.
Sallust: Can you tell us what exactly is your role in the drive to replace the current mercenary guards in Newland? What is your opinion on the whole situation
Falikos: I like how things are progressing, I was incredibly suprised and pleased the support we've gotten so far. So far as my role I suppose I'm in a place to draw attention to it, making sure people know what we're doing and why, and that it's nothing to do with creating new bias; just undoing one that's gone on too long.
Sallust: Now this movement is also supported by the organization Shattered Dreams that you are a part of. Can you tell us a little more about your leadership position with Shattered Dreams and what your organisation is about?
Falikos: Shattered Dreams is quite old now, and we've always had the same goal to promote understanding between the sides. In all honesty that can be really a difficult thing, but we help open people's minds one at a time and it makes a difference. I've been leading for a long time now, the majority of our existance and was one of our founding advisors when Kojiyama lead.
Sallust: "Understanding is a three edged sword" is it not?
Falikos: Yes, and on occassion everyone gets caught on it... but it's better than wandering about with preconcived notions that are as damaging as inaccurate. People forget that the people on the other side of the wall are people too.
Sallust: so what can you tell me about the recent attack on your apartment involving Midia and the Dust Brigade? Do you know what caused you to be singled out by her?
Falikos smiles slightly
Falikos: I don't think she cares for me very much... revenge would not suprise me. Although it has been suggested my position of leadership and involvment in the efforts in NLC are a likely a factor.
Sallust: so you're suggesting Midia and the Dust Brigade supports Loren Warr's presence in Newland?
Falikos: No, I'm suggesting I haven't any real idea, revenge is the only reason that 'makes sense' but it doesn't seem to be enough. I have a feeling we'll find out her motivations for her attacks soon enough, although I do suppose she is perfectly capable of being that petty to punish all of RubiKa for the few that have upset her previously.
Sallust: what do you think of Jobe's coming out of isolation and into the "spotlight", new neutral powerhouse? What are your impressions of the neutral community of Jobe?
Falikos: Really they don't seem to have much to say beyond recruiting people in and out of the portal. Talking to any of the people around the city gets a quick brush off or temporary expulsion. Their isolation apparently has effected their social skills.
Falikos grins
Falikos: Although I do love the design of their city itself, it's truely wonderous. I greatly admire their abilities in science and in design.
Falikos: Just don't know I'll be inviting any of them over for tea soon.
Falikos shrugs
Sallust: But in the end isn't technology of lesser importance than how our souls relate to each other? Do you think Jobe will move to becoming part of the Rubi-Ka neutral community or remain aloof and seperate?
Falikos: I think it's too early to say for certain, but I think when things are settled down for them they'll open up. I can only imagine the amount of trouble opening their gates has been for them.. suppose Id be a little cranky too.
Sallust: as a neutral and leader of Shattered Dreams, is there any larger body of neutrals that you identify with? obviously not Jobe or the Newland City Council. Under what banner would you rally?
Falikos: No there isn't actually. Even those in Shattered Dreams while sharing a common goal are quite varried in many aspects. We're our own banner I guess.
Falikos smiles
Sallust: what role do you think the neutrals of Rubi-Ka will play in deciding the fate of our planet and the Shadowlands?
Falikos: The same as we always have, some will try and aid, some will exploit the spoils of war, some will stay quietly to the sidelines. All together it depends on the neutral in question. So, really, I think there will be an impact, but likely in unexpected ways.
Sallust: do you think it will all balance out in the end or have a specific impact?
Falikos: I'd like to see it balance out in the end to a healthy Rubi-Ka and people living in tolerance of each other.. I'd be lying to say I didn't hope that would be the specific impact, but I simply don't know. I have no gift for telling the future.
Sallust: any final comments or declarations you'd like to make for those reading of our inteview?
Falikos: Yes, I wish everyone safe travels.
Falikos smiles warmly
Sallust: thanks, to all our readers I present the Nano-Technician, Falikos of Shattered Dreams!
